Writer’s block
As a writer, there is one thing to be dreaded more than anything else. That feeling of not knowing what to put down onto the paper. Writer’s block can be truly a debilitating thing for some people. Having that block stops all productivity and makes one feel like they aren’t creative. Well here is how I get rid of my writer’s block when it rears its ugly head.
Look at the Arts
For me writer’s block comes from a lack of inspiration. Knowing what you want to write is half the battle. So when I don’t know what I want to write I look to the Arts for my inspiration. Poetry, Movies, Music, all things creative can help get one out of that funk. Personally I tend to lean towards Music and Poetry because verse and creative language can help stimulate how a person may want to word something for themselves.
Get out in Nature
It’s okay to put the proverbial pen down every once in a while. As long as you are being productive in other ways one will not feel like they are wasting time. Getting out into nature via nature trails or parks can help destress and shake off whatever it may be that is holding one back from writing.
Take a Shower
As silly as it may sound taking a shower is something of a novelty in these days. Sure hygiene is important, but not many people know it can also help get the thoughts flowing again. Ever heard of a shower thought? Well it comes from people who have gotten strange and unique ideas all while standing under the shower head.
